Ronald David Gleyze, 85, of Williamsport, PA passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018. Born July 3, 1932 in Houtzdale, PA, he was the son of Henry and Leah Gleyze. Ron graduated from Houtzdale/Woodward High School in 1951. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954. He worked for Harrell Automatic Sprinkler Co. for over 32 years.
Ron was a member of the Williamsport Country Club and the Eagle’s Nest Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed all sports, loved coaching, and was an avid golfer. Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Gleyze, his sister, Leah Milliron and his sister, Dorothy Flango. He is survived by two sons and two daughters: Michael Gleyze (Violeta) of the Philippines, Robert Gleyze (Nancy) of Pittsburgh, JoEllen Knecht (Dennis) of Hickory, NC and Jacquelyn Williams (Scott) of Pittsburgh. Ron was proud of his nine grandchildren: Sara, Katie, Mike, Dan, Steve, David, Anna, Isabel and Natalie. Also surviving is a brother, Lewis Gleyze (Selma) of Etters, Pa, sister-in-law, Linda Sallurday of State College, brother-in-law, Gary Stone (Pat) of Gettysburg, and brother-in-law, Ken Stone (Jean) of Akron, OH.
