Robert A. Grove, 91, of Williamsport went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at AristaCare at Loyalsock. He and his wife, the former Shirley Fleeger, were married on March 3, 1951 and celebrated 69 years together.
He was born on March 22, 1929 in Linden, and was the son of Andrew and Mattie Hill Grove.
He worked at High Steel as a welder. Robert served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952 as a staff sergeant. He was a member of Newberry Church of Christ. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR racing and football, and keeping his yard and shrubbery trimmed. Most important of all was spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Walter (Kathy) Grove of Montoursville, and Kelly Grove of Williamsport; three daughters, Connie (Dennis) Breen of Williamsport, Georgia Grove of Williamsport, and Michelle (Jed) Paulhamus of Jersey Shore; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Eldon Grove; and two sisters, Ada Tawney, and Venus Hauser.
The family would like to thank the great staff for the care their husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather received at Hospice, The Gatehouse, and AristaCare at Loyalsock.
