Richard “Rocky” Winder’s golden heart stopped beating on April 11,
2020 at UPMC Susquehanna after five years of world-class cancer care at
Geisinger. He fought until his very last breath and will forever remain
in our hearts as the strongest man with the biggest personality we have
ever known. His work ethic and optimism will live on forever.
Born April 26, 1962, Rocky attended Williamsport High School and most
recently worked at Textron Lycoming. He enjoyed fishing, hunting,
antiquing, finding the next great deal, taking fashion cues from no one
and cheering up those around him. He is survived by his loving partner,
Lori; two children, Ariana and Kristiana; siblings Davey, Lisa, Judy,
Jimmy and Tina; mother, Bernice.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all of his care providers, but especially
to Dr. Julie Innocent Woods, MD, Dr. Na Tosha N. Gatson, MD, PhD and Dr.
Nicholas Marko, MD, FAANS.
