Lucille B. Harvey, formerly of Lewisburg and Millville, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at the Muncy Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband of nearly 54 years, William D. Harvey, preceded her in death on April 20, 2015.
Born on June 16, 1932, in Mont Clare, Pa., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Mae Y. Barlow. She graduated from Phoenixville High School, and was working as a teller at the Industrial Valley Bank in Phoenixville when she met her future husband. They were married on May 6, 1961.
Lucille served as substitute organist at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Phoenixville, and Centennial Lutheran Church, Kimberton. At Centennial, she was on the altar guild, accompanied the junior choir at practices, and also served as Sunday school pianist. She enjoyed canning, needlework, helping her husband with gardening, and going on long walks with him. She and her family moved from the Phoenixville area to Millville in 1984.
Surviving are her sister, Sandra Kunkel, of Watsontown; her son, Jeff, and his wife, Mary, of Picture Rocks; and her daughter, Faith Hutter. In addition, her grandchildren, Coray Harvey, of Sitka, Alaska; Collin Harvey, and his wife Jessie, of Montgomery; Christian Harvey, and his wife Lauren, of Ulster; Samantha Harvey, Jeffrey Hutter, and Michael Hutter, all of West Chester, and Claudia Davison, of Hughesville. Surviving also are six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
