Jesse W. Wertman, Sr. December 3, 1942 - April 2, 2019

Jesse W. Wertman, Sr., 76, of 663 Center St., passed away peacefully
on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Jesse and
his wife the former Bonnie Britt were married on October 1, 1966 and
have celebrated 52 years together.
He was born on December 3, 1942 in Williamsport and was a son of John
E., Sr. and Adaline Temple Wertman.
Jesse was a 1961 graduate of Williamsport High School. He served his
country in the U. S. Army. Jesse worked for Transco Railway Products as
a welder, following retirement he worked at Weis Markets for 10 years.
He was an avid bowler for 20 years, loved to fish, played baseball and
fast pitch in the Williamsport City League, and coached Little League
Baseball. Jesse liked to watch western movies. The most important
part of his life was time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jesse Wertman, Jr
of Watsontown; one daughter, Wendy (Michael) Brewer of Duboistown; four
grandchildren: one great grandchild; one brother Ronald (Jackie) Wertman
of Trout Run; and one sister, Viola Earnest of Warrensville. He was
predeceased by his parents and one brother John “Joe” Wertman.
The family would like to thank UPMC Susquehanna Hospice for all their
help, kindness and support to Jesse and the entire family.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Funeral Services, 2102 Northway Rd., Williamsport with Pastor Calvin Phillips, East End Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Green lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 until 11:00 a. m.
