Connie J. Kaufman, 83, of Montoursville passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 following a brief illness. Her husband Edward J. Kaufman passed away five years ago. They had been married for 60 years.
She was born on May 26, 1939 in Lock Haven and was the daughter of Wilbur and Ellen Klinefelter Snyder.
Connie worked for GTE Sylvania in Montoursville until the plant closed in 1988. She did home parties for Country Home Collections selling baskets and crocks. In 1991, she and her husband bought Johnny’s Z’s restaurant in Montoursville before retiring in 1997. They began traveling for 20 years across the U.S. visiting 49 states, enjoying the beauty of our country. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her homemade potato rival soup. Her other interest included cruising, traveling, quilting, playing cards “9 hole” with the girls, bird watching, going for lunch with the girls, growing flowers and shopping. Spending time with her family were some of her happiest and proudest times. She loved to laugh and smile
She is survived by three sons, Scott (Leanne) Kaufman of Williamsport, Zane (Mary “Peg”) Kaufman of Montoursville, Wade Kaufman of Montoursville; Her brother William “Butch” (Barb) Snyder of Mackeyville; her sister, Doris Snyder of Avis; three grandchildren, Rachel (Anthony) Wrench of El Paso, TX, Amber (Andrew) Trautner of Hughesville, Ann Kaufman of Williamsport; six great grandchildren, Carter, Hailey, Jasmine, Nolan, Dayton, and Olivia. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Snyder, a sister Sharon Harris and a granddaughter Sarah Kaufman.
She will be missed by her fur buddies Sophie and Joey.
The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Connie’s name be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2801 Reach Rd. Williamsport, PA 17701 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, November 30 at Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2102 Northway Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701 with Rev. Dr. Howard Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Oval Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the funeral from 10 to 11 a.m.
