Virginia Mae Collister Helm Lord, 83, of Loyalsock Twp., passed away at home on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
She was born on April 4, 1937 in Roaring Branch, at her grandparents’ home, and was the daughter of Gordon Larue and Viola Marie Vroman Collister. Virginia was a graduate of Canton High School and Penn College. She worked for GTE Sylvania in Montoursville until they closed and retired from Crossroads Counseling. Virginia enjoyed dancing, nature and hiking. Virginia volunteered several years at the American Cancer Society and the former Sycamore Manor Nursing Home. She belonged to the American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose, former member of the Wheel Inn and several health clubs.
Surviving are her daughter, Gale Renee Helm Collins of Williamsport and her son, Lloyd Richard (Bertha) Helm, II, two brothers, Kenneth (Kay) Collister of Ralston and Gordon (Sue) Collister of Roaring Branch; two sisters, Joan Helm of NY and Ruth Ann Merick of NC; seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Lynn Williams.
